What is a customer charge?
A customer charge is an amount applied to your bill that recovers a portion of the costs it takes to serve you. These costs include the cost of the pipes or wires and meters. Customer charges also include operation and maintenance costs such as purchasing energy, reading meters, billing and accounting.
What is a therm?
A therm is a unit of heating value equal to 100,000 British thermal units, or Btu's. The amount of heat contained in each cubic foot of gas varies. Samples of the gas we deliver are measured each day to ensure that the gas delivered to you contains 100,000 Btu's of energy.
When are meters read?
Meters are read during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

Can I have my meter read at a specific time of day?
Special appointments can be scheduled between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm by calling (715) 394-2200.
How much notice is required to obtain a reading for a change of account?
Please plan ahead and contact us at 715-394-2200 as early as possible. There are limited number of appointments available in each time slot of 9am-11am or 1pm–3pm and they are scheduled on a “first-come, first served basis”.
Is there a cost associated with opening a new account?
There is a $15 connection fee for establishing a new account.
Can I open a new account, even though I have a previous unpaid balance?
Yes, but you need to call us to set up a payment plan.

Can I sign up for budget billing payment plan at the time that I request a new account?
Yes. However we encourage you to wait six months or more to see what your individual use actually is.
