Water Rates and Extension Rules
Utilizing Lake Superior as the source; water must be pumped, properly treated, and transported via transmission and distribution mains throughout the distribution area before it is a clean useable viable commodity within your home or business. Superior Water, Light and Power Company water revenues come exclusively from water rates and fees and cannot be subsidized by the natural gas or electric utility.
Rate increases are needed at times to adequately support our ability to maintain infrastructure, expand the system, and meet strict but prudent regulatory requirements.
While this site will try to explain certain items about your rates, please note all rate schedules and rules and regulations are described in detail in our rate book.
